3 Track 12 from new but not new artist Anno Stamm. An alias of Berlin producer Lars Stöwe aka Anstam who has been one of our favourite producers around All City towers these last few years. Original with a capital O, Anno Stamm is allowing him to fiddle about in the undergrowth even further. Raw and twisted, dark with a dash of colour and heavy with the drums. 3 tracks in all, and those of a certain vintage should be able to spot the sample on lead track “I Still have the Photographs”. As always for those to whom such things matters – theres the usual full colour shrink-wrapped artwork with a download code.

**Vinyl Only** Following on from Austin Peralta and Ras G, we’re up to the penultimate record in this small series, heading eastwards where the nomadic, industrious Machinedrum applies his spur of the moment style to the 1979 Sun Ra classic – Door of the Cosmos. A slightly different take from the previous two, but equally as experimental in its own right, his trademark frenetic psychedelic high speed beats are at work here for a truly unique interpretation of one of Sun Ra’s most recognisable works. All the covers come with bespoke cover art via Stephen Serrato and photographer Simon Wald-Lasowski and this looks like their best yet.

Second 45 on the label from Om Unit this time it’s a LDN x LA excursion with the industrious UK producer taking on 2 tracks from our LA series of ten inches. Starting off down in Venice its Daedelus‘s “Vous Etes Stereo” from LA Series #6 that gets sci-flipped into some Ridley Scott-esque territory and on the flip side we go uptown Hollywood stylin with Sa Ra’s Om’Mas Keith’s vocal from the final ten of the series – number 11 – getting a reworking with bass heavy vibes on “Girls A Player”.

**Vinyl Only** Going back to Cali for volume two in our series of Sun Ra interpretations. Austin Peralta gives us his take on Space Loneliness # 2 with the original on the flipside. An incredibly original and expansive interpretation, it’s a worthy follow up to the first volume from Ras_G. The original version has yet to be reissued on vinyl so one for both the collectors and the curious. Like the last one, bespoke cover art comes via Stephen Serrato.

Austin Peralta, a pianist and composer based out of Los Angeles, works as a musician in a diversity of contexts both locally and internationally.

Trained as a classical pianist beginning at age 5, Peralta went on to include the litany of contemporary music genres from jazz onward in his palette as an artist. In addition to his work as a pianist, he composes, collaborates on, and produces music in a variety of different veins such as modern acoustic jazz, experimental hip-hop / electronica, world music, and multi-media audio/visual pieces among others. To date Peralta has recorded two albums as the leader of groups that include jazz luminaries Ron Carter, Billy Kilson, Buster Williams, Steve Nelson, and Marcus Strickland for 88’s, a Japanese subsidiary label of Sony Music. Notable collaborations have included The Cinematic Orchestra, Flying Lotus, Erykah Badu, Thundercat, Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra, Jaga Jazzist, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Adam Rudolph’s Go: Organic Orchestra, & Horace Tapscott’s Pan Afrikan People’s Arkestra among many others. At the 2007 Tokyo Jazz Festival, Peralta was part of a “dream team” piano quartet that included the legendary Chick Corea, Hank Jones, and Hiromi Uehara. He has studied with noted mentors Bruce Sutherland, Alan Pasqua, Buddy Collette, & Reggie Workman.

Peralta is member of the Brainfeeder artist roster along with Flying Lotus, Daedelus, The Gaslamp Killer, Strangeloop and many others. His third album, a self-produced project entitled “Endless Planets” was released on CD in 2011. For All City he worked on the Sun Ra series – Views of Saturn covering the track “Space Loneliness # 2″
